My husband was recommended by his endocrinologist to use this insulin pump. The pump is fine (though hard to read for him as another poster said). What is really poor is their billing service. They send you bills that don't make any sense. When you look on the bill to see if they've received your payments, they don't show. I know we've made payments. We have the evidence on bank and credit card statements. But the way their bills are written, you can't tell where your payments have gone. They just send a new bill to you. So confusing. I'm not... After many issues with the 530g, and a few serious issues when the CGM gave me inaccurate readings, and DID NOT ALERT me to a low of 29, or high's over 400, I can not depend on the 530g System. After speaking to a CS Rep I was told that maybe I had been using outdated insulin, that I may have over extended the sensor beyond the 5 days, or my infusion sight was the issue. EVERYTHING BUT that the pump had malfunctioned. Along with calling the FDA, I will try calling the "big guy" as another post has suggested. However after reading about... Read more

not that it will do any good, but worth one last call. Hooman Hakami Executive Vice President and President, Diabetes (763) 514-4000 x 818-576-5883 Jenny: 818-576-5883 I too have given up on the 530G and CGM. I have had the pump replaced 5 times in the past year. Many issues. Keep calling CS and followed all of their advice, but it is still unreliable. MANY MANY sensors replaced, but the issues continue. Returns are only allowed within the first 30 days. So I am out of luck. Because this very expensive pump is not functioning as... Read more

Before the procedure and during the rep was over the top with making them seem like they are there for you anytime you need them.....low and behold now that this device is installed and they got their money from it they can't be bothered calling me back with an issue! This is only my second call with a concern in almost two years so it's not like I drive them crazy! Was told I'd get a call in 24 hrs....that was 3 days ago and still no call!!! When the battery dies this... Read more

My sister is a Type I diabetic, born with the disease in 1958. She needs to be on an Insulin Pump at this stage of her life and she is succumbing to the ravages of this terrible immune disorder and is practically blind at this point. She had been on the OmniPod Insulin Pump and it was great. Both the company and the product were great and she wore it from September 2012 until January 2016. She is on Medicare now and it will not cover this pump. With the guidance of her Endocrinologist, it was decided she would try the Tandem t:slim pump.... Read more

Horrible. If your truly considering an insulin pump go with another company. I paid 1500. co pay for my pump (due to my insurance) and medtronic tells me i have to pay full price for my infusion sets, resevoirs and continuous glucose monitors. Im quoted 675. for a 3 month supply. $2700. a year and the rep tells me 'well if you dont want to pay it then i guess you dont want to take care of your diabetes. Read more

I write this with great disgust and anger about this company. The issue is as follows: I called to order supplies. I normally get from Medtronics reservoirs, infusion sets and test strips. When I spoke with a representative and he gather my insurance information, he never took my prescription insurance information and only my health insurance, under the premise that my health insurance covers everything. And this is after mentioning to him that I have prescription insurance. In any case, this person goes on and puts the order. A week I get... Read more

Medtronic is using a billing company called Monterey Financial and they are scammers. I am being charged a $15/month fee for something. I was told it was a late fee, even though some payments were not late. It is a processing fee. It is an application fee. I seem to get a different answer every time I call. I am very disappointed that Medtronic is associated with such a terrible company. If you do a Google search of Monterey Financial, you can see how crooked of a company they are. I have been very satisfied with Medtronic up until... Read more
