The Medtronic 670G pump is a complete disaster. Basically if you do not want to do anything else but manage your pump 23 of 24 hours a day with constant alarms, no sleep, constant BG reading requirements, and constant insulin flow blockages then this pump is for you.

I was originally on the Animas one touch ping but animas went out of business and Medtronic to over as support without any problems. I was talked into the latest and greatest with constant SG readings using a sensor to regulate basal amounts since the warranty period had expired on my previous pump. In theory this would be a great pump if it could do what it says. The biggest problem lately is insulin flow blockages which seem to occur within a days time of installing a new reservoir and tubing.

I do not get enough supplies for all the issues with this pump to last through the period until more supplies are allowed to be ordered. Angry

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Preferred solution: Either a full refund with support for my previous pump or a different pump that is reliable..

Location: Burnhaven, Scotland

My daughter used the animas ping for 11 years before we had to switch to the Medtronic 670 g. We are rarely able to use her stomach for pump sites, 75 percent of the time we get the insulin flow blocked message, which very rarely occurs with other sites.

Very frustrating to have her entire tummy off limits. We stopped the Medtronic CGM after one disastrous week and went back to the dexcom.

Hello, Iโ€™m having exactly the same issues. I feel like Iโ€™m working for the pump instead of the pump working for me.

My entire life has become about calibrating, updating, waiting, and more calibrating. I havenโ€™t slept through a night since I got this Medtronic pump.

The reasons it will alarm can be the most ridiculous reasons like โ€œDo Not Calibrate Sensor Updatingโ€....this will happen at 3am, then at 3:15, then 3:30am just to keep reminding you not to calibrate in the middle of the night. I hate my pump and have considered going back on injections.

Do not buy the 670G. It is a terrible pump that constantly alarms even though the Audible Alarm is set to off.

It even alarms after the battery is removed.

The alarms cannot be turned off for social settings requiring silence. All audible alarms need to be removed from the pump to make it user friendly and socially acceptable.

Series of events...have a minimed pump I like, but a Dexcom CGM that won't work for a closed loop system. Looking into sending Dexcom back and getting Minimed, but looking at reviews first. This is very clear.

I am planning to file a complaint with the FDA Medical Equipment division. I am having constant issues with the insulin flow block alarms.

If there are "flow blockages" something is blocking the flow. Have you disassembled what you can to locate the source of the trouble ?

I had to do something like that with Mr. Coffee the other day and our bathroom sink spigot the week before. Carefully read all maintenance instructions. Diabetes already sucks 23 hours out of my day just by the nature of the beast, and , oh yes, ruined my life in the process.

Of course, that was after my heart failure and before my Meniere's disease. I'll trade you troubles any day.
